L’artista ebbe un buon successo commerciale in Gran Bretagna, ma non è certo che vi abbia soggiornato. L’esposizione a Parigi nel 1890 di Crepuscolo (Hyde Park) fa supporre che Tofano abbia visitato Londra in quel periodo, come pure i ritratti di alcuni inglesi che l'artista eseguì verso fine secolo.

The artist was commercially successful in Britain, but there is no certainty that he actually stayed there. The exhibition in Paris in 1890 of Crepuscolo (Hyde Park) suggests that Tofano visited London at that time, as do the portraits of Englishmen that he painted towards the end of the century.
