Dai titoli di due opere, Una passeggiata sul lago di Park (Scozia, Aberdeenshire) esposta a Torino nel 1861 e La traversata del Crinan, Canale di Scozia nel 1865, si presume che il pittore abbia visitato la Gran Bretagna nel 1860-61 e forse ancora nel 1864-65. Non si conoscono le ragioni per cui si sia spinto in località così remote come il Loch of Park, vicino ad Aberdeen, e la baia di Crinan nell’Argyll, rispettivamente nel nord-est e nel sud-ovest della Scozia.
From the titles of two of Bertea’s paintings, Una passeggiata sul lago di Park, Scozia, Aberdeenshire (A Trip on the Loch of Park, Aberdeenshire, Scotland), exhibited in Turin in 1861, and La traversata del Crinan, Canale di Scozia (The Crossing of the Canal of Crinan, Scotland), exhibited in Turin in 1865, one presumes that the artist visited Great Britain in 1860-61, and perhaps again in 1865-65. It is not known for what reason he ventured into regions as remote as the Loch of Park, near Aberdeen, and the bay of Crinan in Argyll, respectively in the northeast and northwest of Scotland. |
